Pohang Steelers have signed Brazilian striker Zulu (26) and defender Jung Hong-yeon (26). Zulu signed a 1-year contract while Jung signed a 6-month contract.
The tall forward started his football career in 2001 with Brazilian club Novo Hamburgo. The experienced player last played for ABC of the Brazilian Série C where he scored 7 goals in 6 appearances.
Defender Jung Hong-yeon is a tough fullback who debuted with Jeju Utd in 2006 after graduating from Dongeui University. He has made 50 appearances and 1 goal in his professional career.
On the official Pohang site, manager Park Chang-hyeon said that the two players had good physical conditions and balance, particularly noting Zulu’s excellent goal-scoring ability and positional sense and Jung’s speed and determination. The two new players will add diversity and balance to the squad for the latter half of the season.
