Jeonbuk march on to face Jeju in K-League playoff semi-final

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors will face Jeju United in the 2010 K-League championship playoff semi-final this Sunday afternoon as they booked their passage and a spot in the 2011 AFC Champions League tournament with a 1-0 win over Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma this evening.

Both sides had a number of chances throughout the match however the game’s solitary goal came in the 22nd minute from the head of defender Jo Sung-hwan after Park Won-jae flicked on an Enio Oliveira Junior corner.

Lee Dong-guk spurned several opportunities to net his 100th career K-League goal, and whilst Dzenan Radoncic and Jo Dong-keun came close for visitors Seongnam the current Asian champions failed to find an equaliser and they will be unable to defend their AFC Champions League crown next season.

Jeonbuk, the reigning K-League champions, now face Jeju United on Sunday at the Seogwipo World Cup stadium with the winner of that match taking on FC Seoul in the two-legged championship playoff final to determine the 2010 K-League champions.
