Suwon Samsung Bluewings have been arguably the most active in the transfer market since the window opened at the start of the year with a number of high profile changes having been made to the squad already ahead of the 2011 season.
The capture of Choi Sung-guk from Seongnam for a fee of around $1m looks to be the biggest signing of the window so far, with the former Ulsan and Korean national team forward installed as club captain immediately on arrival by Bluewings boss Yoon Sung-hyo. Also moving in at Suwon is Ulsan’s Oh Bum-suk who arrived with Kang Min-su heading in the opposite direction in trade. It is widely anticipated that deals to bring in Jeonbuk goalkeeper Jung Sung-ryong and Gyeongnam forward Lucio Tefilo da Silva will be concluded soon, with the duo expected to joins recent recruits Mato Neretljak and Lee Yong-rae in the new-look Suwon squad.
Gangwon have confirmed that both Baze Ilijoski and Renato Medeiros have left the club, with Croatian forward Mateas Delic and Bosnian midfielder Muhamed Dzakmic arriving to replace them. Incheon United have added a Brazilian defender by the name of Diego da Silva Giaretta whilst Gyeongnam have signed Brazilian forward Andrew Eric Feitosa and former Korean national team defender Park Jae-hong. Strugglers Daegu have confirmed the capture of former Brazil U21 international Thiago Quirino da Silva from J2 League side Consadole Sapporo along with six other players; Song Han-bok and Kim Seung-hyun (both Chunnam), Lee Sung-min (Gangneung), Lee Ji-nam (Gyeongnam), Ju Jae-duk (Jeonbuk) and Lee Hyun-sang from Czech side Banik Ostrava.
Australian defender Iain Fyfe has joined Busan I’Park on a two year deal from A-League side Adelaide United, whilst Busan duo Jung Sung-hoon and Lee Seung-hyun have been traded to Jeonbuk for Lee Yo-han and Lim Sang-hyub. Ulsan’s Paraguayan forward Jose Maria Ortigoza Ortiz has signed for Brazilian side Cruzerio, whilst Javier Arley Reina Calvo has left that Brazilian team to join Chunnam Dragons on a year long loan. Chunnam have also agreed a deal to sign Lee Hyun-seung on loan from FC Seoul for the same length of time. FC Seoul have confirmed the departure of defender Kim Jin-kyu to Chinese side Dalian Shide, whilst Seongnam’s Jeon Kwang-jin has quit his club to join Kim at Dalian.
