
The 2010 AFC Champions League winners Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma have announced their 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup tournament in the United Arab Emirates. The representatives of the AFC will be in Abu Dhabi from December 8th to the 18th where they will face off against the club champions of each footballing continent.
Familiar faces such as national team goalkeeper Jung Sung-ryong and AFC Player of the Year Sasa Ognenovski will be part of the participating squad. Hong Chul and Jang Seok-won, who both missed the Champions League final against Zob Ahan, have rejoined the squad. Choi Sung-guk, who has completed his service at Gwangju Sangmu, will also join the squad; however, Kim Cheol-ho, who scored in the Champions Final, will head in the opposite direction and join Sangmu before the tournament begins.
On December 11th, Seongnam will play the winner of the match between host club Al-Wahda (UAE) and OFC representatives Hekari United (Papua New Guinea). If Seongnam wins, they will advance to the semi-finals where they will play against UEFA Champions Inter Milan on the 15th. The other participants are CONMEBOL representatives Internacional (Brazil), CAF representatives TP Mazembe (Congo DR) and CONCACAF representatives Pachuca (Mexico).
